Mobility
The “Mensakreisel” is a popular meeting place for carpools, a frequently used bus stop and also the location of CarSharing vehicles. So it’s a good place to start thinking about mobility: You can reach the University by car via the A9 motorway (exit Bayreuth-Süd). The city of Bayreuth can also be reached by train or long-distance bus, and there are several bus lines from the train station or central bus station (ZOH) to the campus. Bus and train services within the city and district of Bayreuth, as well as train connections to the Kulmbach campus, are included in our Semester Ticket and can be used free of charge by students. Bicycles are also a popular means of transport: More information is available at Stop 10 (Glashaus).
From the city to nature
Nature lovers can enjoy Bayreuth’s surroundings to the full. By bike, car or on foot, you can be in the middle of beautiful nature in no time at all. The Fichtelgebirge and Franconian Switzerland are perfect for outdoor activities: Cycling, hiking, climbing, canoeing, paddling or skiing in winter can enrich your leisure time. There are also many enchanting castles and historic sites in and around Bayreuth just waiting to be discovered.
