• The University of Bayreuth was founded in 1975 and consists of seven faculties, the newest of which is located in Kulmbach.
  
  
• We have about 13,000 students.
  
  
• We offer over 40 Bachelor’s degree programmes and over 60 Master’s degree programmes. We also offer degree programmes with state examinations such as Teacher Education and Law.
  
  
• The University of Bayreuth has more than 350 partner universities worldwide.

Student Administration Office
Our Student Administration Office handles all the formalities associated with your studies. These range from application and enrolment to renewing enrolment and ending your enrolment.

Every student at the University of Bayreuth has the opportunity to spend a semester or an internship abroad as part of their studies. The International Office is there to advise and support those who wish to take advantage of this opportunity.

Studierendenwerk Oberfranken
The Studierendenwerk Oberfranken takes care of many things for students. It runs the cafeteria, the student dormitories and is also available to answer questions about financing your studies. Another important part of the Studierendenwerk is the Psychological Counselling Centre.

Student Parliament
The Student Parliament is the elected representative body of students at the University of Bayreuth. Its members participate in many University committees and represent the interests of the students.
