Cafeteria
From breakfast to dinner, this is where you will find your meals. The main cafeteria at the University of Bayreuth serves a variety of main courses, including vegetarian options, from Monday to Friday during the lecture period. The self-service salad bar is another highlight. The fresh food section in the annex focuses on light and healthy dishes using regional products. For cakes or sandwiches, it’s worth stopping by the cafeteria. Please note: You can only pay with a Campus or Guest Card.

Central Library
The University Library has a total of around 2.3 million items in its collection. Books and journals are not only available on the shelves or in the library magazine, but often in digital form directly on the computer. You can find the location of any item in the UB digital catalogue. Research advice and “Basic Library Knowledge” are available to both students and non-students in the form of consultations, courses or digital independent study offers. The library workstations are also frequently used for studying, and the tour often includes a glimpse of one of the branch libraries on campus.

Focus: China
In 1986, the fields of Intercultural German Studies and Business & Economics initiated a partnership with the Shanghai International Studies University (SISU). Since then, students have completed dual degree programmes in both countries, and Chinese students make up the largest group of international students in Bayreuth. Shanghai is also home to one of Bayreuth University’s overseas offices. The Bavarian Academic Centre for China (BAYCHINA), which aims to strengthen academic relations between Bavaria and China, is based at the University of Bayreuth.
